Social networking for romance readers
Clink! Mine is a glass of Pinot Grigio tonight. I'm an author and also lucky enough to be site admin here and your hostess tonight. Please do tell us what you are drinking, where you are from and anything else we should know!
I live in a market town beside the Chiltern Hills, England, and have a West Highland White Terrier.

Permalink Reply by Kate Allan on February 14, 2012 at 20:37 Wow, you must be excited with your novella launch coming up. What is the novella about? Do you have a cover? (if so, post it please!)
Permalink Reply by Elin Gregory on February 14, 2012 at 20:46 Hi Kate.
Yes very excited and rather apprehensive. It's a steep learning curve! The novella is gay romance set in classical Greece. The cover is having a last few tweaks to make the Greek style font more readable to modern eyes otherwise I would certainly post it.
I hope you're having a fun evening..
Permalink Reply by Sharon Goodwin on February 14, 2012 at 20:39 Hi ladies, I'm a reader. Of mostly anything ... I administer and contribute to a poetry website and starting to write short stories. Not long back back from supporting Mandy Baggot's book signing at Waterstones at Castlepoint and just about to open a tin of beer (OH is packing the delivered food shop away).
Rachel - love that cover :)

Nice to meet you. I'm sure Mandy's book signing was fun. Hope the beer is cold!
Permalink Reply by Sharon Goodwin on February 14, 2012 at 20:58 Hi Juliet, it's half-term for me so I can allow myself the odd luxury (like a cold beer).
Permalink Reply by Juliet Greenwood on February 14, 2012 at 21:05 Wahay, Sharon! Enjoy! Are you a teacher? I'm a refugee from the profession, I have to confess.
Permalink Reply by Sharon Goodwin on February 14, 2012 at 21:15 Part of the Inclusion Team at a junior school and dyslexia therapist. Like the 'refugee' :) Thinking of a career change ...
Permalink Reply by Juliet Greenwood on February 14, 2012 at 21:22 That sounds like serious hard work, Sharon. I didn't stay a teacher long, but I saw so many who were burning out after years in the job. The people I work with now work with young offenders and the excluded - but they are making films and music and that seems to make all the difference. (I just do the admin and the fundraising these days)
Permalink Reply by Sharon Goodwin on February 14, 2012 at 21:33 So glad I'm not in the classroom permanently though - it's really stressful isn't it! Used to work as youth worker on an urban mobile project - on the streets. Loved that but not enough hours to make a living unfortunately. Would love to do admin and fundraising :) Keeping my eyes open!
