Cat Crazy !

I'm a little bit nuts about cats! Widget is my writer's cat, she sits beside me, ready to pinch the warm spot when I get up.

Any other cat lovers out there?

Please introduce yourself and your moggies!

That's true - he's very active, but much more affectionate and sweet natured than he looks!

He looks very alert. I doubt he'd let a mouse go past unchallenged.

Our Molly departed for the Rainbow Bridge to join her friend Milly and the rats moved back in - so, we now have to new rescued 'ferals', George and Dusty. Dusty is still very shy and I haven't got any decent photos yet, but George has made himself at home in the yard owner's studio.  Hope he doesn't forget his 'mousing and ratting' duties. :)

Wellington leaves tiny scraps of would-be food thieves as well, Hywela. He also likes to leave me a nice dead rat by the front door. If I don't pick it up, he does and drops it right by my foot. ugh! Usually I'm in my glad rags when I go out the front door and all the time I'm at whatever function it is, I'm thinking that I have to dispose of a rat when I get home...

Grace - that is indeed my Buffet boy (named after Jimmy Buffet the country singer - my other cat's called Cash - and my Black Lab is called Dixie - guess you can tell what sort of music we like! Yes - Buffet does have a very loud purr, especially when he's snuggled into my lap.

We recently lost one of our stable cats, Milly, we're not sure how old she was (she and Milly were both rescued 'ferrals',) but we think she was a grand old age.  Molly used to let her do most of the hunting and now Milly's gone across the rainbow bridge, Molly spends most of her time in the yard owner's studio.  We thought she'd decided to retire and live a life of luxury until ... (don't look at the last picture if you're squeemish) Seems Molly doesn't like rodents nicking her food!

Margaret and Beth, Gravos is actually very gentle although you definately need to stroke 'with the fur" (ie spikes) than against them, or you get a cheese-grated hand.

Gilly - is that Buffet in the photo? He reminds me of my very first cat, Skate, who was a dockyard cat rescue boy. Buffer looks like he's got a very loud purr!!!

I have two cats - and they're totally different personalities. Cash is quite an aloof chap, and hates to be picked up, though he will allow himself to be stroked - very occasionally. Buffet on the other hand is basically just a cuddle bucket. I've never known an animal to be so loving and affectionate. I am his favourite person in the whole world and he'd rather be with me than anyone else (excellent taste obviously!) but he also likes to ride around on my stepson's shoulders, draped like a scarf.

Gravos looks fun!  None of ours were bothered by the fireworks, Beth - Fergus is too old and wise, and the Ragdolls are too laid back :)

How have your pets coped with all the fireworks? My cat, Wellington, has spent all his evenings behind the settee for nearly two weeks.
