WOW! That is certainly a beautiful cover, the sunset and the reflection of the horse silhouetted against the skyline are just perfect.

Thanks! Yes I love the cover, my son designs them and this one fits the story perfectly. It's based in a small village down the valley from me but there are a few beach scenes with the horses.

Great, Jan,  it sounds like an excellent read. (and I'm still drooling over that gorgeous cover!)

Thank you Hywela for your welcome and interest in my book!

This is the description:  (Amazon link below) You can also buy through Smashwords for other formats.

Product Description

Opposites attract? Laura Brown, interior designer and James Morgan-Jones, horse whisperer. And Midnight Sky, a beautiful but damaged steeplechaser.
Laura seems to have it all, glamorous job, charming boyfriend. Her sister, Maggie, struggles with money, difficult children and an unresponsive husband. She envies her sister’s life, but are things as idyllic as they seem?

She might be a farmer's daughter but Laura is doing her best to deny her roots, even deny her true feelings. Until she meets James, but James is very married, and very much in love, to a wife who died two years ago. They both have issues to face from their past, but will it bring them together, or push them apart?

Praise for Midnight Sky: '...Jan has wound in realistic conflicts, a must for horse lovers too, plus some lovely romantic scenes...but, will it be a happy ending? Midnight Sky, takes you to the final pages before her story concludes and it isn't always how you might expect.'

About Jan Ruth
Jan Ruth lives in North Wales and her novels feature the rugged Welsh landscape and more often than not, her love of dogs and horses. Although she writes serious love stories with strong characterisation, she also captures the humour of modern everyday life and the endless complications of relationships.

Hi Jan, welcome to the group.

I envy you living in Snowdonia.  I lived most of my life in the Welsh mountains but was obliged to move to England when I married due to the lack of affordable housing in rural Wales!  I still go back to visit the family regularly and hope to be able to return one day.

It's not at all naughty to mention your book - and what a gorgeous cover - reminds me of gallops acaross the sand at Aberayon, Ceredigion. Feel free to tell us more and provide a purchase link!

Hi horse lovers!

Always been a horse lover since the day I could walk (long time ago) I'm based in Snowdonia which has the most amazing countryside for riding but sadly many places are closing and going private/livery due to excessive costs, mostly insurance.

I am currently riding at a lovely yard on Anglesey and another one in Cheshire. I think, along with writing and reading they are one of my biggest passions in life.

Is it very naughty of me to mention then, that I have written a work of romantic fiction with an equine background? SShh... I'll post it just the once.

MIDNIGHT SKY by Jan Ruth.

It's been a bit quiet here lately so I thought I'd post another picture of my Quarter horse mare T'pau and Section D gelding, Harri. If you think it's the same as the first one I posted of them, look closely - is he about to kiss her do you think - or just poking his tongue out at her!

Isn't this the cutest little thing?

Not sure what it is about horses, but once smitten they become an obsession - but a nice one.  Yes, it's always great to meet other horse people and chat about horses and how they fit into our writing!
