A Call for Best Contemporary Romance Reads!
As Moderator of the Festival of Romance Reader Awards, I've been very impressed with the quality and number of novels so far submitted for the 'Best Historical' Award. Please keep them coming in, the more the better! What's slightly surprised me so far is that we've had a relatively modest number of submissions in the 'Best Romantic Read' category - contemporary romance, put broadly - romance that isn't historical. At the moment the field is close to wide open. So if you're the author of a…

We all think write, write, write. Keep at it, every word counts toward a finished manuscript, don't we?. If we don't we'll never get published, we'll never make money from our writing efforts, But, is writing romance all about making money from our words. Are there never times when you think - as I and…

Crikey - that turned out to be a ginormous picture of the flyer - thank goodness I didn't try and paste a picture of my face!! Romance author Emma Blair has died
I was sorry to hear this week that Emma Blair, the pen name of former actor turned bestselling romance novelist Iain Blair, has died at the age of 69 after a four year battle with diabetes. He took a female pen name for his first novel and kept the fact he was a man secret for 11 years as his publishers were worried that female readers would be put off by a male author. The secret only came out when he was shortlisted for a romantic novel of the year award. You can read more about…

New Publishing contract signed & Release of Historical Novella.
Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd share my bit of good news! A couple of weeks ago I signed a contract with a romance publisher for a contemporary romance, but it's release date is July 2012. Around the same time I decided to self-publish a historical novella via Kindle on Amazon. It's now up at Amazon in the Kindle store.
