Chocolate Shoes and Wedding Blues
Avon, May 2012
This is the first Trisha Ashley novel I’ve read, and I loved it. Tansy is facing problems shared by many people – worry and grief over a loved one, a faithless fiancé, interfering family, fear of infertility and new business challenges. But it’s an uplifting read as she grows and deals with them, and it doesn’t hurt that the gorgeous Shakespearean actor Ivo lives next door. The charming setting of the Lancashire village of Sticklepond (think about the green, rolling countryside of the Dales rather than dark satanic mills) is almost another character in itself, and there are enough references through this book to indicate there are several other stories to explore. And there are some rather yummy recipes at the end too; what more could a girl want!
Our Classification: Up All Night
Our Opinion: An uplifting read, full of humour -- and chocolate!
