Book Review: Chelsea Wives by Anna-Lou Weatherley

Chelsea Wives

Anna-Lou Weatherley

June 2012, Avon

Enter the world of the Chelsea wives. Socialites Iva, Calgary and Yasmin live the ultimate lives of plenty, with lavish homes, exotic holidays, designer wardrobes and money to burn. But behind all of the glamour, the personal lives of these three friends are far from perfect, with domineering, philandering and ruthless husbands. But when Iva’s husband goes one step too far, the three women hatch a plan to finally enact their revenge.
Anna-Lou Wetherley weaves an entertaining story of money, marriage and revenge. She takes us behind the facade of London high society, exposing some of its dirty secrets and in doing so introduces some feisty heroines and abhorrent villains. Romance is a bit lacking in the novel – although adultery is not – but what it lacks in romance, it makes up in drama and thrills. Although perhaps a bit predictable, this is a fun read, with some nice twists and a revenge plot straight out of Hollywood. Move over Ocean’s Eleven, the Chelsea Wives are taking over.

Our Opinion: A fun read full of drama and thrills, although a little predictable
Our Classification: Thrills and Spills
