Thanks for the welcome Kate. I live just outside of Huddersfield, probably not the most romantic place, but we are surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We are also steeped in history here which I love and not too far away is Bronte country. I am an aspiring writer and an avid reader and I'm sure I will gain a lot from the Festival of Romance.
Hello Kate and everyone, I live in Canada, but visit the UK frequently because our daughter and son-in-law live in Sussex. Unfortunately, I'll miss the Festival this year, but maybe next...
I've been published by Harlequin in humourous romance (At Your Service, Jack) and am revising a single title contemporary right now. Always hoping for another sale and yes, I know persistence is key!
Hi Kate! Thanks for the kind words! My dogs are actually bichon poos love them to bits lol they are a great breed and are so smart! I will post more pictures of them. I was diagnosed with eds (ehlers danlos syndrome) its a connective tissue disorder that makes my joints dislocate. Since being diagnosed I refound my passion in reading and writing and just finished my first novel. I also write for chicklitclub.com and luvandrelationships.com Hope to get to know more about everyone on this forum!
Hi Kate. Thanks for the membership and notification for Festival of Romance. I live in Richmond so will definately be attending. Where can I read what happens on the Friday and Saturday, other than the ball on Sat evening which sounds fabulous? Thanks, Louise Rose-Innes
Thank you Kate, I hadn't heard of Linford Novels so I'll keep that in mind. Ulverscoft have now accepted it as a large print novel, so I'm thrilled about that.
Thanks for the message Kate, look forward to hearing from you soon. By the way, I have blogged on caracoopers.blogspot.com in the hope of spreading the word a little wider about FoR.
Thank you Kate,I'm very pleased to be here. I am currently working on my third novel. The second is being reviewed by an agent as we speak.
I have had articles and short stories published in weekly magazines but I wanted to write longer stories, which turned into historical sagas. The first one is a WW1 saga but the next two are in the 40s/50s era, a timeline very close to my heart.
I'm looking forward to meeting everybody and swapping ides
All the best
Sheila
Ditto. No I didn't stay for the dinner - Did you? I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up too - we hopefully can at FoR? How did the day go for you? Mine started terribly but then got better and better, but refuse to get excited as want this so much and really don't fancy the inevitable crash back down to earth. I won an award - can't quite believe it. First attempt at a competition, in fact, first attempt at a short story. Well chuffed! Ooooo - Choc Lit have the manuscript for reader review. Thank you so much for the tip off. Again, can't get excited.
For me, it really has been a rocky road to publication but I'm still hoping to find a mainstream publisher although I'm very happy with Muse It Up a dynamic publisher compered to my former one, run by SheWhoShallNotBeNamed,
Yes, Tangled Love will be published on the 27.01.2012.

I'm so glad to find out there is a UK based place for romance writers to meet!
